‘Happy Days’ star Don Most, impressive vehicles featured at
O’Reilly Auto Parts Rod & Custom Car Show Feb. 22-23 in Monticello, Iowa

 
For the 45th consecutive year the Midwest winter spotlight will shine on an impressive lineup of vintage and custom vehicles at the KCRG TV9 Presents the O’Reilly Auto Parts Rod & Custom Car Show, Feb. 22-23. The family friendly show will feature a new selection of street rods, custom cars, street machines, hot pickups, race cars and custom motorcycles.
 
This year’s event will also feature appearances by actor Don Most, best known for playing Ralph Malph on the popular ABC TV series “Happy Days” from 1974 to 1980. Most has appeared in numerous TV series, films and in the touring company of “Grease.” In recent years he’s stepped behind the camera to direct a number of independent films. He is married and lives in California.
 
As always, this affordable winter family fun event will be held at the Monticello Berndes Center, 766 North Maple Street in Monticello, only 35 miles from Cedar Rapids or Dubuque on U.S. Highway 151.
 
Once again spectators will be voting Peoples’ Choice Awards for cars/pickups, motorcycles and model cars. Winning exhibitors will receive Hupy and Abraham trophies and Citizens State Bank cash prizes. O’Reilly Auto Parts, Hupy and Abraham and Citizens State Bank will be providing door prizes in the form of gift cards.
 
Added attractions:
·       3-D Sound Company DJ Dave Palmer will provide music and commentary and serve as awards MC for the 15th consecutive year;
·       Caricature artist David Fliss, Flissart Entertainment, will provide free visitor portraits;
·       Magic and balloon artists and clowns Mary Burack as “Rainbow Annie,” and JoAnne Ricklefs as “Daisy Patch” will delight the kids;
·       The 29th Annual Model Car Contest will award trophies and model kits in four categories.
 
Don Most will be available for autographs and photos Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. and from 6-9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
 
Show hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Awards presentation is set for 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a paid adult. Get $1 off by bringing a can of food to benefit Four Oaks family programs. Parking is free.
